"what does Jesus means to me?"
I give honor to our Father God, our Lord Jesus Christ and our comforter the Holy Ghost
On our last 5th Sunday Women's Day, Pastor wanted every sister to speak on "What does Jesus means to me?" I was like, what?! where do I start? I decided to start with what learned about Jesus:
Born to virgin Mary ( Matt. 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son and thou shalt call his name Jesus for he shall save his people from their sins) The Reason of the Christmas Season!
I also learned that Jesus at the age of 12 was found listening to the teachings in the temple (Luke 2:46 And it came to pass, that after 3 days they found him in the temple sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them and asking them questions.) 3 days! listening to the teachings from doctors (what we call preachers today)… Noticed scripture said "listening" not playing on the cellphone or tablet but "listening"...mmm? we can not sit in the church and listen to the preached word of God for 1 hour without picking up our phone to play...this is not your home, play at home not in God's house... be careful what you do or allow, in the presence of God.
Another thing I learned about Jesus, he was obedient to his mother, she gave him a job to do even when he didn't think it was time to perform...(John 2: 1-3, 5) And the 3rd day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there And both Jesus was called and his disciples (his friends, will come back to this later), to the marriage And when they wanted wine the mother of Jesus saith unto him they have no wine v.5 his mother saith unto the servants whatever he saith unto you, do it v.9-10 when the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine and knew not whence it was but the servants which drew the water the governor of the feast called the bridegroom And saith unto him every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine and when men have well drunk then that which is worst but thou hast kept the good wine until now (Jesus will make you look good in the site of the people) Not only Jesus did an excellent job, which he could have just added some color to some water for them drunks but he went above and beyond which still does today
I also learned Jesus chose his friends "disciples" wisely. He chose friends who had the same goals: to please & do the will of his Father which in heaven...how can we be friends with someone who we know putting all their energy to go to hell and we trying all our might to get to heaven?...mmm? check out your friends
Jesus paid the price for my sins by dying on the cross...he didn't have to do it but He looked beyond my faults and saw my need
Jesus rose on the 3rd day with ALL POWER and sent another comforter the Holy Ghost.
Those was some of the things I learned about Jesus but I know Him as:
My Savior- He saved me! not only He saved me He filled me with his precious gift- the Holy Ghost
I know Him as My Healer- He has healed me over & over and without a doubt the best healing for me is yet to come
I then know Him as My Friend ( for some of you He became your friend before He became your healer- guess I little slow) cause of the works He has done for me, He's my friend...like is said actions speaks louder than words
He is My Lover- my love for Him have grown the more I learn, read, listen & meditate on Him
He's My Life: every morning I wake I asks, what is it I need to do to help build the kingdom of God? what does Jesus has for me to do today?
He's My Breath I Breathe: knowing without Him I'm Nothing
He's My Strength: know I can do all things through Christ (Jesus) which strengthen me
Phil. 4:13...which I find is so true
What does Jesus means to me?
So to sum it all up...Jesus means "Everything" to me!
